I was mainly there to train at a Muay Thai gym for exercise and for fun. Training was twice per day and about 2 hours per session. Morning training started at 8AM. I’d go for a run then arrive at the gym, skip, stretch, wrap my hands and put my gloves on then hit the bag until my trainer called me to hit pads. We were doing 3 minute rounds on pads with 1 minute breaks. Usually 3 rounds. Then back to the bag to practice front kicks and knees. Most sessions I’d then do a few rounds of sparring with gloves and shin guards, and a few rounds of clinching (ie stand up grappling and knees) and end each training with exercises like push ups, sit ups, pull-ups, weights, shadow boxing with hand weights and running while dragging a truck tyre behind me. I’ve been going there nearly every year for at least a few weeks each time and always leave feeling super fit and healthy.
