Taken at Schönfeldwiese , the official nudist section of the Englischer Garten in Munich.
The name translates to "Beautiful field meadow" and it is very pretty especially on a sunny summers day.
Nude sunbathing has been permitted at Schönfeldwiese since the 1960s, something which many Germans practice. It caused quite a sensation at the time and also made the English Gardens well-known, even outside Munich.
A small stream called the Schwabingerbach passes through the meadow. There are small waterfalls in the stream and even a standing wave which surfers queue up to ride. The meadow is studded with daisies and surrounded with trees forming a natural windbreak around this oasis of calm in the city. I went on a twenty something degree summers day with clear blue skies and seemingly the entire population of Munich had stripped off there en masse.
