Sapora Knight reviews Good Luck to You, Leo Grande. A movie about a series of sessions a female client spends with a male escort. I watched this and honestly thought it was ridiculous in many ways.
His client is like all the features of every escort's top 10 most difficult clients rolled into one person and amplified to a degree that makes for maximum shock value but very minimal realism.
Everything she said and did, are all things that clients have said and done in my presence. But if any one client did all of those things in such an exaggerated manner, I would be looking for a hidden camera on the assumption that it was some kind of elaborate practical joke.
I liked the Fish jelly Film Review of this movie.
I think it would have worked better if they dressed Leo Grande like a 20 something male escort. In the movie, for some reason, he dresses like a quirky 50 year old maths teacher.
Then the Emma Thompson bit could have been a 5 or 10 minute scene alongside scenes with a single male client, a couple, a kinky client, a duo etc.
If each scene showed how he has to adapt to different clients wants and needs and some of those clients were challenging in some ways but to a realistic extent, it would have made for a much more interesting and accurate portrayal of a male escort.
